Andrew's Big Boy Bed!!

Well, after weeks of Andrew "trying" to climb out of his crib, we finally bit the bullet and converted his crib to a toddler bed. Of course, by we, I mean Tim and Andrew. He loves "helping" his Daddy do guy stuff!!!

We had been talking about it all week so he was pretty happy to see the final product and was even excited to go to bed. There were a few tears when the time came but he eventually settled down.

When we went up to bed, Tim went to check on Andrew and this is what he found!!!! Don't you miss the days when you could sleep anywhere???

It was rather a long night, but I suppose we will look back on this time in a few years and laugh that the biggest thing we had to worry about was night wakenings... this time won't last forever, so I guess we should enjoy the good and the bad! I can't believe my little man is growing up so quickly.

My "little man" is such a sweet, compassionate, sensitive, affectionate little guy and then there are moments like these that remind me that he is all boy!!!

A time for change...

Well, it's no secret who our family was hoping would win the election but we have to remember that God is in charge no matter who is in the White House! My sister Clare sent me an e-mail yesterday that says it perfectly...

God Is Still In Control

By the end of the day today, we will know a lot about the future of the United States. You might be surprised to learn that I am about to predict the outcome - I am about to predict what will happen after the election. Before the votes are counted, even before the voting booths close, I can predict with 100% accuracy that the following things will happen...

1. The Bible will still have all the answers.

2. Prayer will still work.

3. The Holy Spirit will still move.

4. God will still inhabit the praise of His people.

5. God will still pour out His blessings upon His people.

6. There will still be God-anointed teaching and preaching.

7. There will still be singing of praise to God.

8. There will still be room at the Cross.

9. Jesus will still love His own.

10. Jesus will still save the lost. Whatever the outcome of this election, remember, God is still in control. Today, tomorrow, forever... God is still in control.

Let's all pray that our new president seeks God's wisdom and guidance, that he governs with integrity and humility and that the needs of ALL Americans are served.

Bittersweet moments...

I can't believe my little one is already 6 weeks old. She is already growing way too quickly and it feels like just yesterday she made her grand entrance into the world. I went for my 6 week checkup with Dr Davis today and it was very bittersweet to realize that I won't be going back for another year. After 6 pregnancies in 4 years, Wendover Ob/Gyn felt like my second home at times. It has been a very long road but our family is now complete. I wouldn't trade any moment of all the heartache we had because it brought me my 2 little miracles and makes me appreciate them all the more. I will carry the memory of our 4 angels in my heart forever and will hopefully get to meet them in heaven one day.

Halloween

Holidays are so much more fun when you have kids!! This was Andrew's first time trick-or-treating and we had a blast. We took him to his school's Trunk-or-Treat to practice for the main event and once he got the hang of it and realized there was candy involved, he warmed up to all the freaky looking people. For those not in the USA, the people involved in a Trunk-or-Treat decorate the boot of their car and hand out candy to all the kids dressed up in their Halloween costumes.

On Friday we went Trick-or-Treating in the neighborhood with our neighbors Brian, Leslie and Gavin. Both boys were pooped by the end of the evening, even after loading up on candy!!

I'm embarrassed to admit that there was bribery involved in getting Andrew to wear the Elmo suit, but now that he knows what Halloween is all about, every time he sees Elmo he waves his arms and tries to say trick-or-treat and throws in a "pwease" for good measure. I have a feeling I won't have to bribe him next year!! LOL

Giving this blogging thing a try...

Well, I decided to join the bandwagon and give this blogging thing a try. I'm not sure how successful I'll be with 2 little ones, but hey, it's worth a try.
